Name: Greydawn
Gender: She-Cat
Age: 40 moons
Clan: StarClan
Rank: Warrior
Picture:
Visage:
Greydawn is a small but powerful she-cat. She is short, but heavily muscled, with broad shoulders almost fit for a tom and a wide back. Her legs are stocky and strong, not very fast but perfect for fighting and leaping. She has a large muzzle and a wide, welcoming face. Her eyes are a dark but pure blue, they shine as if filled with stars, and those who see them often think of them as two pieces of the night sky. Greydawn's fur is long, silky and easily tangled. She spends many hours grooming to keep it clean and neat. It is long, and fluffy, framing her face so it looks like a man, rippling over her body and keeping her warm, padding her feet so she may walk quietly and ending in a bushy tail. Her pelt is the color of clouds on a rainy day, or deep fog. It is a light grey, sometimes darker, sometimes almost white. Since she has come to join StarClan it holds the light of the stars in it.
Demeanor: Greydawn is a clever cat, but her sharp wit and cutting sense of humor gets her into more trouble than she can sometimes get out of. She is quick to laugh, quick to forgive, easy going and good natured. She is an optimistic warrior, always trying to see the good in a situation or cat. She is by no means serious and a clanmate can always feel better after seeing her laugh off a tough situation. Even though she is easy-going, likable and sociable, her sharp tongue is apt to make her enemies. She speaks without thinking about what she is saying, and has the unfortunate talent of being able to return every insult with a better one. However, she does not hold grudges. Every cat deserves a second chance to her. Perhaps it may be that she is compassionate, or perhaps she just can't be bothered to keep hold of anger. It takes a big problem to grab Greydawn's full attention and she squirms out of the most obvious appearance of responsibility. However when she has found a challenge she puts her whole heart and mind to it. No challenge is over for her until she has won, no matter how long it takes.
Past:
Greydawn was the only kit born of two loyal ThunderClan warriors. She was apprenticed when the cats began to feel the destruction of the two leg wars. During her training she hunted and patrolled in a forest that grew smaller and smaller as the destruction spread. She was less likely to catch prey with every hunting trip and could always remember the hunger of that time. She was very proud to become a warrior in her turn, but her joy was marred when Fallenstar, the ThunderClan leader at the time, announced that same night that the clans would be leaving their home.
During the journey the young warrior unfortunately made enemies with members of the other clans. Other cats did not know her well enough to not take her quick tongue seriously. One cat whom she really did not get along with was the ShadowClan medicine cat. He made it a point to insult her and she saw that as a challenge. She badgered and tormented him in a contest of wits that he returned with a vengeance. However she did not hate him, she was not a cat who could ever truly hate. She merely saw him as a skilled opponent and their rivalry as a game.
Greydawn saw the beginnings of the clans hate for grey cats. She became a large part of the clans story. Her own clan mates began to turn away from her and other cats like her, as she watched in sadness and horror.
On the night the clans reached their new home and the ShadowClan medicine cat died, she meant to pay her respects to a valued opponent and show the other cats at the same time that grey cats were still an important part of the clans. However, her plan backfired. Ravenshadow, the former medicine cat's apprentice attacked her to drive her away from the body of his mentor, consumed with grief he was not thinking straight but the damage was done.
The grey cats were driven from the clans and Greydawn forced to find their way down the mountainside and to the Dystopia in the Dark and stormy night. They made it but Greydawn was wounded in the process. Bleeding from a large gash she took shelter in a dead tree in the Dystopia. The other grey cats banded together and tried to help one another. However there was nothing they could do to save the former ThunderClan warrior. They had no medicine, no food, and no way to bind the wound. Greydawn developed an infection and died in her sleep. Her body was buried at the base of a gnarled tree and a stone placed at the head to mark the place where she lay.
Greydawn had been the daughter of a cat named Silverpool who became medicine cat of ThunderClan after her kits had grown. So the young warrior had always kept a firm belief in StarClan, even as all others turned from their warrior ancestors. When she died, she went to join her mother. In the ranks of StarClan she watched as her clan changed and settled down into their new home, unable to talk to those who did not believe. It was Greydawn who gave the prophecy to the last true believer. Only StarClan will know what it means.
Fortune: I think she will try to bring living cats back to StarClan, that seems like a pretty good goal for her.
